Consultation & Collaboration

   Multilateral & Regional Collaboration

Multistakeholder Forums
CPOPC convenes and contributes to high-level multistakeholder platforms namely Sustainable Vegetable Oils Conference (SVOC). This conference bring together palm oil producers and consumers, industry players, civil society, and researchers to foster dialogue on sustainability, trade, market resilience, and the role of vegetable oils in food, energy, and climate agendas. Beyond palm oil, CPOPC through SVOC create platform for other vegetable oil producers to unite under sustainability umbrella.

UN and Regional SDG Processes
CPOPC participates in key United Nations and regional processes such as the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Partnership Forum, the High-Level Political Forum, and UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP)’s Asia-Pacific SDG platforms. Through interventions and side events, CPOPC showcases palm oil’s contribution to the SDGs, promotes inclusive rural development, and advocates for fair, evidence-based approaches to sustainability.

Biofuel and Energy Transition Focus
In line with member countries’ biofuel mandates, CPOPC supports the development of palm-based biofuels. CPOPC particularly emphasize on widely used biodiesel segment, while also engaging in emerging discussions on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and marine biofuels. Through strategic biofuel platforms and dialogues with relevant bodies, CPOPC promotes technical exchange, policy coherence, and recognition of palm-based biofuels in the global energy transition. CPOPC is also a member of Global Biofuels Alliance (GBA) since May 2025.

Food Security and Market Stability
CPOPC strongly advocate palm oil as a component of food security. Therefore, CPOPC maintains structured cooperation with organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and research partners to address food security, nutrition, and market stability. Joint policy dialogues and research activities help clarify palm oil’s role in affordable, nutritious food systems and safeguarding livelihoods in palm oil producing countries.

Climate and Environment Partnerships
CPOPC focus on climate and environmental discussions with various stakeholders. CPOPC has been accepted as an observer to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), through Conference of Parties meetings and ongoing efforts to obtain observer status with UNFCCC and UNEP. Through these engagements, CPOPC support dialogue on land use, forests, and climate mitigation and adaptation, and promote recognition of palm oil–producing countries as part of the solution to climate and biodiversity challenges.

Financial Institutions Collaborations
To strengthen global and regional collaboration, CPOPC engages with the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF), Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and economic forums. By engaging with these financial institutions, CPOPC promote coordinated approaches on trade, sustainability regulations, and investment. Side events and dialogues in these platforms help align regional priorities with global standards while safeguarding producer interests.

Engagement in Key Consumer Markets
CPOPC also works closely with government and non-government actors in major importing countries and regional alliances to promote palm oil market advancement. Partnerships with industry platforms and associations help address policy challenges, support market access, and encourage collaborative solutions to sustainability and trade issues.
