YB Datuk Seri Johari bin Abdul Ghani currently serves as the Minister of Plantation and Commodities of Malaysia, a position he has held since December 2023, and concurrently as the Acting Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability since July 2025. With a distinguished career spanning the corporate, financial, and political sectors, he brings a wealth of leadership experience and economic insight to Malaysia’s policymaking and development agenda.

Datuk Seri Johari began his academic journey at the MARA Institute of Technology (ITM) in Shah Alam, where he earned a Diploma in Accounting (1982–1985). He continued his professional education in the United Kingdom, becoming a member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA) in 1988 and later achieving the prestigious status of Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA) in 1993.

His professional career began at an international accounting firm, where he served as an auditor, before venturing into the corporate sector. Over the course of 25 years, Datuk Seri Johari held Chief Executive Officer roles in several companies listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE), where he was also a major shareholder. His business interests spanned a wide range of industries, including finance, manufacturing and energy, fast-moving consumer goods, food and beverage, and agriculture, reflecting his multifaceted expertise in corporate governance and strategic management.

Datuk Seri Johari has also been actively involved in Malaysian politics since 1998. He currently serves as the Chief of the UMNO Titiwangsa Division and Chairman of the Barisan Nasional Titiwangsa Coordination Committee. Additionally, he holds key leadership roles as the Chairman of the UMNO Federal Territories Liaison Body, Chairman of the UMNO Malaysia Economic Bureau, and has been a member of the UMNO Supreme Council since 2018.

With his extensive background in both the private and public sectors, YB Datuk Seri Johari bin Abdul Ghani continues to play a pivotal role in strengthening Malaysia’s plantation and commodity industries, advancing sustain.
